I have enclosed my pergola with café blinds to keep out the wind on the cooler days and nights because I live in a temperate climate. I have to cater for all the seasons if I want to get the most use out of my deck that is possible.
This style of pergola is a truly wonderful feature for the garden. It has a unique form, due to the fact that its rafters radiate from a central point. And, when completed, what a fantastic structure it is, especially when draped with the most heavenly climbing plants! But, could you really build one yourself? Yes! And you will be so proud of it when it’s finished.
Girls don’t get upset waiting for your man to do things for you. He has a to-do list and it goes on his list. He definitely intends to do the job for you but when he works his way through his list. You ask him to do things because you want it done now. I get it I’m a girl. So try to do it yourself. I will tell you exactly how I put up the cafe curtains.
This can be achieved in several ways and doesn’t necessarily involve more than one person! A walkway pergola or a swinging arbour might be just the job, with plenty of fragrant and beautiful plants to give your garden a wonderfully romantic feel. For a more intimate romantic setting, look at the ideas in the socializing section, applying them a little differently: for instance, calming colours, stronger smelling climbing plants or even incense, soft and luxurious furnishings, warmth and subdued lighting – all to heighten the senses.
